Fotini Stamatelopoulou

Fotini Stamatelopoulou (she/her) is a choreographer/performance maker with a background in performance psychology and contemporary dance studies. Through her practice and works, she explores the intersections of performance, sound, spoken word, and text, with a particular focus on contemporary representations of the body, the dynamics of performative labor, the mediation of emotional response, and the cultural articulations of rage. Her personal works include NEAR MISSES (2025), optimal soft (2022) and too.much (2021). NEAR MISSES (2025) is currently on tour (SPRING Performing Arts Festival, Latitudes Contemporaines, Emergentia platform, and more tba). Fotini also collaborates as a creative and movement director as well as an assistant choreographer in theatre, visual arts, and film.

Fotini was an Onassis AiR Fellow within the framework of the Grand Luxe Network (2023–2024) participating in a series of residencies at Theatre Freiburg, Trois CL (Luxembourg), Grand Studio (Brussels), L’Abri (Geneva), and Pôle-Sud (Strasbourg). She co-curates the podcast patches, a series on sound and choreography that broadcasts from stegi.radio in Athens. She has been awarded the EFFEA (European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists) Springboard Residency (2025) scheme with the support of Latitudes Contemporaines, SPRING Performing Arts Festival, and MIRfestival.
